I remember Steve's first business. It was a hot dog truck, and everyday he would go to Brooklyn and make a small fortune. He would pull up outside the milk plant where our dad worked and the guys would line up for the best food. Steven was always a "foodie". I can still see the truck and remember the taste of the hot dogs and sausage sandwiches. Then there was The Fireside Restaurant that he opened with our mom and brother Michael. Talk about good food, homemade Italian! The place was so cute, Mom and Steve did all the cooking. I wish I could turn back time, that's where I would start my life over, right from that point. His next business venture was his Deli/ Fruit stand. Boy that was fun! It was an awesome little place with an apartment in the back. I remember him sniffing every tomato and squeezing every orange when the delivery man would come, he would keep them there for an hour. I swear they hated delivering to that store, he was a pain in the ass. He would say if it isn't the best I cant "OVERCHARGE" my customers.... thats Steven!
